Aim: understanding the factors that determine energy-based poverty among 80 families living in ghetto-type areas, as well as identifying energy efficiency solutions for two residential centers of the organizations Don Orione and the Îl Chicco Association, which serve over 130 vulnerable people (elderly people, children, young people and adults with disabilities).

  • Understanding the factors that determine energy-based poverty among the 80 families;
  • Identifying solutions to reduce energy-based poverty for the 80 families;
  • Identifying solutions to improve the energy performance of the buildings housing the two residential centers;
  • Debating the solutions identified by the partners and agreeing on an action plan that will be the basis of a new project;

At the same time, the project represents an opportunity to build a solid partnership between private companies and non-governmental organizations to reduce energy-based poverty among vulnerable people.

Each partner will be responsible for one of the 3 components of the future project, according to their profile: ENEL – access to energy, Leroy Merlin – rehabilitation and professional training, TOTAL Group – preventing school abandonment and, possibly, upgrading the roads used to access the housing block, FDP– social assistance services, counseling for children and parents.
